At NCGS, we believe that every child is unique and deserves individual attention, especially in the early stages of learning.
To ensure this, we maintain a low student-teacher ratio across all levels. In Playgroup, we follow a 1:8 ratio, where two teachers guide a group of 16 students. In Nursery and Year 1, the ratio is 1:20, and from Year 2 to Year 5, it is kept at 1:25.
Our classroom setup is also different from the traditional model. Instead of fixed benches and a separate teacher’s desk, students from Nursery to Year 3 sit in small groups at geometrically arranged tables. Teachers do not remain seated at a desk; instead, they move around the classroom to interact closely with each student.
We follow this approach to create a more supportive and approachable learning environment. It helps build a strong connection between teachers and students, encourages participation, and allows teachers to respond to individual learning needs more effectively.
At the same time, this system promotes confidence, self-respect, and comfort among students- unlike conventional setups where the teacher is seen as distant or authoritative. At NCGS, we aim to make learning a collaborative and positive experience for every child.
