NCGS began its journey with a Cambridge-based curriculum for early childhood and primary education. Over time, we adapted our approach to better meet the needs of our students and parents.
Our current curriculum is carefully designed to prepare students for a smooth transition into Bengali medium education after they graduate from NCGS, while also building strong foundations in English, Mathematics, and Science.
We follow a hybrid curriculum that combines NCTB textbooks with selected English, Math, and Science books inspired by the Cambridge system. The NCTB curriculum was introduced in 2005 in response to parent demand, particularly to enable students to participate in national scholarship examinations.
At the same time, we have thoughtfully reduced the number of additional books over the years to ensure the workload remains age appropriate. Currently, students study a focused set of core skill books in English, Math, and Science alongside NCTB materials.
This balanced approach allows our students to stay aligned with the national curriculum while also gaining the confidence, skills, and exposure needed to perform ahead of their peers and adapt to higher levels of education in the future.
